About Knit Stix®

Helen Jost, a retired helicopter pilot, came up with the invention of the ruler markings for Knit Stix® when she was under contract to fly people to and from the oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and often took her knitting with her so she could knit on her down time off shore.
One day she forgot to bring her ruler or tape measure, both are necessary for someone who knits.
As she sat in her helicopter, in her words “watching the waves go by” she thought of combining a measuring device imprinted right on the needle. Ergo, the birth of the self-measuring Knit Stix®.

Aleta Frost, Helen’s daughter is the Marketing and Advertising Director for Knit Stix®
and is co-owner of Omni Designs NY LLC. Aleta, her husband and 4 children own a farm in Upstate New York. Aleta is also in Marketing & Sales of Horse & Tack Classifieds Magazine.
She homeschools their youngest children,who are boy/girl twins.Her daughter is a member of US Pony Club and her son is a member of 4H.. and there's more good news-she has just become a Grandmother!
